What it seems to be saying is that for every job created in the alternative energy sector, 2.2 jobs could have been created in the traditional energy sector. So alternative energy shouldn't be viewed as a jobs creation. The article also points out that investment in solar energy seems to have the worst pay back. 53% of Spain's investment in alternative energy has been in solar energy yet solar is only providing 11% of the electricity they get from alternative energy sources. It explains that there is no cost savings from alternative energy generation that can be passed on to the consumer because the overhead is 120% that of traditional energy generation. It notes that the plant managers of alternative energy plants earn 12 times as much as their counterparts in traditional energy plants. On the positive note it says that the expansion of green energy has resulted in less emissions, which means cleaner air, and the rapid advancement of the technology.
