>>...than Jesus would have to be also illiterate, he came from the same place.<<

Several things: The Magi had given Jesus the infant, gold. Shortly, thereafter, the infant’s family left Judea for Egypt – where the great Jewish scholars and intellectuals either lived and/or were educated (it is said that more than half of the Pharisees in Jerusalem at the time of Jesus Christ had been educated in Alexandria – possessing that cachet which an Alexandrian education imparted).

Holy Writ does not apprise us of the holy family’s whereabouts whilst they sojourned in Egypt; however, it is reasonable to surmise a sojourn with that great colony of Jews who lived in Alexandria. That being a rather by-the-by, it remains that it may be that Jesus, at the very least, may have later been specially tutored by one or more pedagogue(s) – perhaps, having been hired from Alexandria – as the family would have been in a position to have purchased such services.

Further, the family’s hometown was Nazareth – where, it was said, dwelt a ‘Davidic Clan’ – Royal claimants to the throne of David – of whom, St Mary was preeminent. Should that obtain,

it may be that emphasis was placed upon the education of their children – not necessarily so with children of fishermen dwelling upon the shores of Galilee.

So, how did blind Bartimaeus know that a son of Nazareth was a son of David?—seems, there’s some history there, yes?
