Woody Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 How is it that the Washington Conf. can afford to do campmeeting? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Woody Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 good one Rudywoofs :) Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 You know ... my conference has had a 5% increase in tithe ... but WE can't afford campmeeting. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
GreatLakesGramma Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Michigan is still having a 10 day campmeeting, and our economy is among the worst in the nation. Maybe it's all a matter of priorities. Do they always have a 10-day campmeeting? That makes me feel so much better about moving there from the Kentucky-Tennessee conference (which, as dgrimm said, also has a long campmeeting). Misty Rose Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Stan, I'm hoping to make it to Auburn at least one day. If not this weekend, hopefully next. Quote Attitude or ability?
Moderators Gerr Posted June 11, 2010 Moderators Posted June 11, 2010 Our Carolina Conference just finished a 7-day campmeeting last Sabbath. My wife and I went for the last 3 days. S. Boonstra was super. He is a much better preacher in person than on TV. Quote

Yes, campmeeting is very important to Michigan Adventists. Tonight was the opening meeting of this year's campmeeting. they moved the date to a week earlier than usual, because of the General Conference. I tried to watch the sermon from our conference president tonight, but the streaming video wouldn't come through for very long at a time. I am SO disappointed! My son is going up there tomorrow. If they have a DVD of tonight's meeting ready yet, and he stays past sunset, I might have him pick one up for me. Our president is such a deeply spiritual man. His sermons are always very much worth listening to and taking to heart. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. olger Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Boonstra reminds me of a young Rush Limbaugh - in style and manner. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

Members phkrause Posted June 12, 2010 Members Posted June 12, 2010 Boonstra reminds me of a young Rush Limbaugh - in style and manner. I think that's really pushing the envelope. They are not remotely close in any kind of thinking, beliefs, etc. And if we want to go to labels, I'd say that Rush would be so far to the left compared to Shawn you could fit the world between them. GreatLakesGramma Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 True Gram. Have a good time - and listen to Phil Samaan if you get a chance. og I am not going to campmeeting this year. But while looking at the conference site today, checking on meeting times, I read the article on the home page about the stand the conference has taken, which you mentioned in another thread. I am sending them an email telling them how thankful I am for our godly, spiritual leadership here in Michigan. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26.
