karl Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 In 2001 the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predicted that by 2009 the average temperature of the Earth would be one degree warmer than it was in 2001. That is a very big number. In fact it is equal to all the warming that has taken place over the last 100 years. But it did not happen. In fact the average temperature of the Earth in 2009 is about one-half degree cooler than it was in 2001. This is such a bad forecast that it is the equivalent of saying we will have a sunny day with highs in the 90s and instead we get a snowstorm with temperatures in the 20s. And yet we are relying on these same people, right now, to recommend energy policy for entire nations. Quote

Dr. Shane Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Well the waters in the Gulf of Mexico are hot, hot, hot. Here in Texas we can feel the heat and it feels like global warming. I don't know if it is just the sun or all those SUVs that conservative Republicans are driving but it is hot. Of course, some like the heat and some sweat when the heat is on. Some feel the heat and decide that they can't go on. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Guest Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 So conservative republicans are the only ones who drive SUVs? I didn't know that. Please see the article I just posted by Thomas Sowell called "Artificial Stupidity". Quote
Dr. Shane Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Well, conservatives that drive SUVs use regular fuel while others are using E85. But compassionate conservatives will use E85 or drive smaller cars like a efficient mini-van. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Guest Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Well, conservatives that drive SUVs use regular fuel while others are using E85. So now you're telling me that you know what kind of fuel conservatives use, who drive SUVs? Give me a break. I sure would like to know how you became privy to that information. Since there's no way of knowing it! It sounds like you're just parroting some liberal democrat talking points, that they use every time they get in front of a microphone. And we all know how accurate those are. Did you read the article I told you about? "Artificial Stupidity"? Quote

I think we're safe now. I'm going into the not-raising-hogs business (see below.) This will free up more corn for E85, which people don't want. There's just nothing better than a centrally planned economy, ya know? ] With all that extra cash you can buy a couple of SUV's,or better yet a full sized V-8 Dodge pick-up to haul your money in.It would help free up more E85 for Shane's vehicles, which he eventually won't need due to the dramatic impact my whales are gonna make on the environment. Your pickup can also serve as an actual pickup to haul your hogs(which you didn't raise)to market in case we discover that there's really no environmental catastrophy imminent and the gov. discontinues the not-raising-hogs industry. P.S. What kind of green vehicle will I need to stock my whale farm with krill? Quote

Guest Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I didn't really want you to post on the thread, I just wanted you to read it. It's really not surprising that you could read something that is all too true, and call it stupid. Quote
Dr. Shane Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I don't read things as an ideologue. Thomas Sowell is an ideologue much like Rush Limbaugh or Micheal Moore. These people have their agenda that they are pushing. That's fine but I am always careful not to get sucked into it. I am a moderate or an independent thinker. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... bonnie Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Don't misunderstand me. Not all conservatives are the wicked, cold-hearted types like Glenn Beck. (Nor are they as funny as Beck either) Some a kings of compassion, like President George W. Bush (the man is practically a saint). Bush is what is known as a compassionate conservative. God bless the man. He even believes in global warming. Just a question. Can you clarify what makes Glen Beck wicked and cold hearted? Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. karl Posted June 17, 2010 Author Posted June 17, 2010 Quote: Thomas Sowell is an ideologue That's a ridiculous statement. Everybody is an idealogue to a certain extent (unless, of course, they have no idea about anything.) We need ideas. We need the voice of experience even more. What we do NOT need is anybody's or any group's idealism being foisted upon the rest of us. We're supposed to be a nation of freemen. Enjoy your ideals. I'll enjoy mine. Check it out. You may want to try mine. But I have no right to force you to try them. Quote
Guest Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Glen Beck identifies himself as such. I take him at his word. So even though he is being facetious when he says's that, you turn it around and act like he's not being facetious, and say you're just taking him at his word. That's not taking him at his word, that's twisting the meaning of what he says to suit the way you really see him. And to seemingly be in line with the judgment you have passed on him, so that you don't come off as sounding judgmental. That is if anyone is too dumb to see through what you've done. For that is the only way it can work. No wonder your world view lies so far from the path of reality. Quote
