olger Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Maybe God is starting to turn the hearts of America back to Him? Looks like God is burning up people's idols. Now when people drive past the former place of "Touchdown jesus", they need to look into their own heart and see if they have Jesus or just smoldering remains. http://thenewschronicle.com/touchdown-jesus-destroyed-lightning-srtike/061505520/ Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

olger Posted June 15, 2010 Author Posted June 15, 2010 Act of God? Chance lightning strike? Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Members phkrause Posted June 15, 2010 Members Posted June 15, 2010 I understand what your saying. But olger that's almost as bad as the mayor of New Orleans telling people that god sent that hurricaine to tell them something. I know you didn't mean it that way, exactly. But your right, and I hope people will look at it that way, but you know they won't. It does remind me of the parables that Jesus used to tell the people. When asked about them, he told his disciples that those that were searching would understand and those that were not wouldn't understand. Now I know God didn't sent that hurricaine or strike that statue but I believe that those that are looking for something those things might help them. Like dgrimm would say, just thinking here. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
olger Posted June 15, 2010 Author Posted June 15, 2010 Well, I don't know either way PK. I do know that God caused Dagon to fall (and break), and I know that the Tower of Siloam fell indiscriminitely. Thinking thinking thinking thinking Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

GreatLakesGramma Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Now when people drive past the former place of "Touchdown jesus", they need to look into their own heart and see if they have Jesus or just smoldering remains. Regardless of whether the destruction of this statue was a direct act of God, or simply a natural occurrence, Olger's suggested object lesson is a good point to consider.
