olger Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 A Biblical Response to One of the Greatest Deceptions of Our Day Without a doubt, one of the greatest threats to society and the church today is the multifacted environmentalist movement. Although its reach is sometimes subtle, there isn't an aspect of life that it doesn't seek to FORCE into its own mold. Environmentalism has become a new world religion. Environmentalism's policies are devastating to the world's poor. Environmentalism threatens the sanctity of human life in favor of the object of its worship - the earth. Environmentalism is targeting our youth. Environmentalism's vision is global. "Resisting the Green Dragon" takes its cue from James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." Learn how the Bible powerfully confronts environmental fears and how - in God's wise design - people and nature can thrive together. http://www.resistingthegreendragon.com/?utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=video humbly selected by olger Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
SivartM Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 The Bible confronts environmental fears by destroying the earth in a lake of fire. So I don't know why those earth-worshiping environmentalists even bother recycling. Quote "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar WildeDo to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets." - Jesus
olger Posted June 16, 2010 Author Posted June 16, 2010 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." og Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
SivartM Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 That's true. The ironic thing is that the people who are complaining about environmentalists are environmentalists. If you watch the video on their website they say that taking care of the environment is a good thing. Quote "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar WildeDo to others whatever you would like them to do to you. If you watch the video on their website they say that taking care of the environment is a good thing. Taking care of the environment is not the problem, nor does anyone suggest that it is alright to pollute. It is the almost worship of the environment, providing false data to make everyone hysterical about global warming. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. It is not up to me to declare who is christian or not. Just watch and read here, the environment comes before all, even if it is not harming the environment. Many think it is great that the EPA is now merging with the churches. I fully expect the SDA church to join with the EPA Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. SivartM Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 It's not up to me to declare who is worshiping what. I doubt that anyone puts the environment before all. But the environment is important, since it impacts us all. I don't think any of us fully know how much anything we do harms the environment. I don't think the Environmental Protection Agency can merge with a church. That sort of goes against the first amendment. A lot. SivartM Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Oh, okay! I hadn't heard about this. It's very interesting. I have a few thoughts: I'm not sure if focusing on religious groups is such a great idea. They'd probably do better to include all non-profit organizations. An article I read said that Bush had faith-based initiatives also. From what I can tell this is not just churches, it is all religious groups. And it's not "merging", as if the EPA will own churches or control our Sabbath School curriculum. bonnie Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Oh, okay! I hadn't heard about this. It's very interesting. I have a few thoughts: I'm not sure if focusing on religious groups is such a great idea. They'd probably do better to include all non-profit organizations. The EPA has no business in any religious group An article I read said that Bush had faith-based initiatives also. Yes,Bush did. What does that have to do with 2010 and the EPA and what they hope to accomplish? From what I can tell this is not just churches, it is all religious groups. This would make a difference WHY? And it's not "merging", as if the EPA will own churches or control our Sabbath School curriculum. Use whatever would you wish for the EPA to join forces with religious denominations. It is merging in goals. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. SivartM Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 What's wrong with the goals of the EPA? More specifically, why should churches not join forces with them? bonnie Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 What's wrong with the goals of the EPA? More specifically, why should churches not join forces with them? The manner of achieving what is unnecessary or manufactured is what is wrong. Laws, once implemented will control a great deal of your life. Enforcement of cap and trade will cause economic havoc.EPA has been granted the authority to enforce. Those in favor of cap and trade cannot get it passed, but they can circumvent passing that law by handing it over to the EPA. I can decide for myself when to take a shower, when to do laundry. I do not need my electric company installing a special thermostat to keep track and penalize me for doing when it is convenient for me. My gas company should not be able to penalize me for how warm I keep my home. Utility companies are already pushing compliance on this simple things. 129.00 per head for livestock per year. Explain to the farmer or rancher how he is to survive. A whole host of regs in the bill that the EPA will have power to enforce. My church has a lot more beneficial things to do than support those that would like to tell me when I can take a shower Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. SivartM Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 But nobody usually showers or does laundry in churches. It's part of the government, so we sort of have to live with the EPA. Unless we should just do away with environmental regulations altogether. Unless we should just do away with environmental regulations altogether. Living with something is far different than the championing something. The EPA in general will have a lot of power. If they can get into my home and control when I shower or do laundry, what part of what is important to our church will you be willing to hand over. It is clear you have not spent much time acquainting yourself with the EPA or the power they may end up having Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make.
