SivartM Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Do you think that it counts if you pray for something after the fact but when you don't know the result? Like, if I pray that for God to keep someone safe three hours ago. Do you think it counts if you pray for a television or book character? Like, if I pray for in a future episode/book for so-and-so to become a Christian? Quote "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar WildeDo to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets." - Jesus
GreatLakesGramma Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Well, maybe the first one, because God knew all along that you'd pray, and what you'd say. I have prayed after the fact, not knowing it was already over. As for praying for a fictional character, whatever happens is just what the author of the story wants to happen. It isn't reality, and shouldn't be taken seriously. But if you're wanting the author to be inspired to make certain things happen, so as to influence readers/viewers to consider Christianity, then I believe it's worth praying about. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Lewis
