Good point Doug. Unlike our own Bravus, who I have a great deal of respect for, most would love to or have written God out. How do you get that? They only believe in a different method of creation. They believe that God starts the whole thing and then checks out and lets it create itself (and then tries to trick us into believing that He did it in only 6 24hour periods). Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted June 26, 2010 Moderators Posted June 26, 2010 Nope. That would be deists. Theistic evolutionists believe God was intimately involved in guiding evolution at every step. Quote Truth is important
Moderators Bravus Posted June 26, 2010 Moderators Posted June 26, 2010 And the statement that the purpose of evolution is to get rid of God is a prime example of the kind of ignorance SivartM was talking about. It has been driven, from the very first, by the drive to make sense of the evidence we see in the world around us. Quote Truth is important

It has been driven, from the very first, by the drive to make sense of the evidence we see in the world around us. In other words, the account that there was a God, Who,in 6 literal days, created this world around us, doesn't make sense. So we're not getting rid of God, just the God as described in the biblical creation account. Moderators John317 Posted June 26, 2010 Moderators Posted June 26, 2010 Quote: Bravus: Theistic evolutionists believe God was intimately involved in guiding evolution at every step. Do you believe that God planned for humans to spring from evolutionary processes? On this view, when and how did the Fall occur? It seems to me that if evolution was the means by which God created the world, sin was necessary as part of that very process. As I read the observations of Charles Darwin and other evolutionists as to the way they describe the workings of evolution, I have a hard time seeing the hand of a loving, merciful, holy, righteous God. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
