Interesting article by Clifford. His statement:

God does not reveal the details about the time of the end and the Judgement to scare us - he reveals these things to us so that when they come to pass, we will remember that God foretold it, and understand that He indeed knows the beginning from the end. He tells us things because He has promised that He will do nothing unless it is revealed by His prophets. He tells us these things so we will be able to discern the real deal from the counterfeit; and know how to respond appopriately.
