My Dad is 93 and says that he is "ready to go." He is just trying to hold on until July 31st. That will be Mom and Dad's 70th wedding anniversary!

I am very very sad that I may never see him again.

Mom and Dad have 6 children 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Please pray for all of us.

Thank you,

David Buhler

I am praying for your dad. Celebrating 70 years is indeed worth living for. I pray he makes that. Don't be too worried about not seeing him again. This world is not our home, we are just passing through.

dAb, my gammie kept saying for years that she was ready to go. She lived to be 100.

May it go as well with your dad!

Dad had a cousin who lived to 105. My sister says Dad is taking a turn for the worse though.

I've been dreading my parents going. Mom is 90 but seems in good shape.

I will pray also. I'm going through the same thing with my poppy. He has said he is only staying around to live longer than his father, then he will go. I have told him I'm not ready for that so you have to stay longer.

Thank you Amelia. I will pray for your father and for you too.

My Dad has already lived 58 years longer than his own father.

I heard once that sorrow is for the living. Especially when they are right with their Lord and ready for the transition. We are left with (just) memories and can no longer touch or hug. Who are we crying for?

I pray he see his 70 wedding anniversary, but sounds like he has made peace with his Lord.

Yes, you are right Rondo. Sorrow is for the living - Dad's ready - I'm not ready to lose him. But it is something we all have to face and accept when the time comes.

He is in the ICU this morning with bleeding. He needs surgery, but is too weak and frail to undergo it. They are trying to keep him comfortable.

:( Will pray for a miracle! If need be that your Dad goes, I pray that it will be peaceful and pain-free.

I'm praying for you and your dad, D Allen, and for the medical team taking care of him. I'm also praying that God will give you strength and loving people to support you. I know how very difficult and painful it is, but I know, too, that God is there for us when we need Him most.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Thank you, Gail and John3:16. They have decided to give him some tests to see if they can fix things up without being too invasive. I just pray that he will have peace. They are keeping his pain under control.

I was glad to spot this update.

It's difficult to lose a father and harder to lose a Dad! I lost mine over 9 years ago and I still miss him. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that when the Lord lets him rest, that you will find peace with it and know it is just a short time before the Lord will come to call His children home. I can hardly wait. ~K
