Cool news from Malawi regarding work with Muslims

I received this today from a pastor I know who works extensively for God with Muslim people:

Here is an account from Lay Pastor Golden Lapani from Malawi who has been working to lead Muslims to the SDA faith and Jesus since his baptism in 1982. He was formerly a Muslim and has been evangelizing in many Muslim communities. Pastor Lapani used to travel two days by bus to Kibidula in Tanzania where we used to live years ago, and he would purchase several boxes of books for his evangelism needs. Pastor Lapani has been involved with starting 56 SDA churches in Malawi among Muslims. He has baptized over 30,000 souls during his ministry. Pastor Lapani joined us at the Strawberry Meadow Exhibit Booth at the recent General Conference Session. Here is his story about the book “Allah’s Healing Way” a number of which were sent to him last year. This book was written by Dr. Maryann McNeilus as “God’s Healing Way” and has come under a new title for Muslims.

“I was conducting spiritual meetings and revivals among the muslim community in Chisapo village in Malawi. Our meeting lasted for four weeks. The first week was for community servises which included helping the needy orphans with food, old aged with food and used clothings. Distributing used clothings to the poor and medication and prayer to the sick. We were also sweeping roads and market places all this to help us reach the heart of people. The second week was the time for us to go home to home praying for people and distributing leterature. We managed distribute few bibles and some literature from Light Bearers Ministry.

One when I was visiting people in their homes and invite them for meetings I came across somebodys home whom I never knew was the leader of the mosque in the village. I knocked at his door, when he came out of his house he even never asked me why I came he just told me to go away and never come again to his home. I politely left his home and went back to my room and prayed. I knew God has something at this family. I told my Bible workers to help me pray for the man who shouted at me.

The following day I took with me the book entitled Allah’s Healing ways with me. When I arrived at his home I knocked at the door with prayer and I just said I have brought you this helpful book on muslim health. He received the book but never said a word and in the book I just wrote my local phone number.

The following day I receive a phone call inviting me to go to the man who refused me the first day. I went there praying when I knocked at the door he came out smiling and told me to go into his house. He gave me a chair to sit down and he apologised to me that he never knew I had a nice material as which he has read. He requested me study more things with him and he told me his name was Mwalimu Amini. He also told me that he was fasting because it was during the month of Ramadan. I told him I was also interested in fasting and praying. I prayed foe him and his family and told him that I will be coming daily to study with him and I introduced the meetings to him and he was very interested. He started coming to the meetings with his wife and later he made his decision for Sabbath, Gods law and baptism.

Mwalim Amini was baptised together with his wife, after his baptism I requested him if he can be one of my bible worker he admited and today Amini is my faithful Bible worker. I dont know if you know that te books that you do send me has a great miracle in the lives of people here in Malawi. I would like to request you send me more materials books, tracts, used clothings if any and anything else that can help bring one muslim to christ.

Three Muslims come to our exhibit booth at the General Conference Session!

Among the hundreds who came and stopped by our booth…we were surprised to find three Muslims who came to our exhibit booth during this convention. They were friends of SDA’s who brought them. One was a young Afghanistan woman, another was from London England. All three of these Muslims were able to receive the bundles of tracts which speak of the truths of the Bible but begin with verses from the Qur’an that apply to the subject. These tracts work…they were made to be appealing to Muslims. We have a great work to do…at the booth we were pleasantly surprised as SDA leaders from Unions, Conferences and even Division leaders around the world stated that these tracts for Muslims were so needed. Many of these leaders came and purchased many bundles as well as the DVD’s with the Power Point programs to reach Muslims. A leaders delegation from Nigeria were very interested in the tracts and purchased many for their pastors. An invitation was given to me to come to a meeting in Nigeria to speak to Pastor’s on how to use the Power Point messages and the tracts. We will pray about this venture, if this is something which God wants me to do. North Nigeria has a very high population of Muslims.

Pastor Golden Lapani was able to speak at length with the Muslim lady from London England which came to our booth. While he was visiting and praying with this lady, she made her decision to follow her Saviour and His end time message. She is to be baptized in London and Pastor Lapani has been invited to attend this special baptism. Please pray for this Muslim lady as often they go through much sorrow for their decision. May God grant her His Grace, freedom and peace.

Several months ago, over 400,000 tracts for Muslims in Kiswahili have arrived in a 20 foot container in Nairobi Kenya at the East Africa Division office to be used in outreach to Islam.

I am most grateful for all those who have helped in this mission to reach out to 25% of the earth’s population who are Muslims. 1.56 Billion people need to hear the saving message for these final days upon earth. They need the golden opportunity to hear and make decisions for eternity. I personally believe that the messages of Isaiah 60 will yet be fulfilled to the letter. God moved on the hearts of the Children of the East at the time of Christ’s first coming, why would He not do the same at the Second Coming?
