Our local Humane Society is holding a benefit barbecue July 21st.

They're having a "beer garden" and are grilling ribs.

Does anyone see a conflict here. They are for the rights of animals such as dogs and cats. They promote the "humane" treatment of animals. But they EAT ribs.

I'm sure you're not the only one who's curious!

Yes. I was thinking of inviting them to really be concerned about animal rights and come to one of our church's vegetarian cooking schools.

Here is their statement in the paper.

They are "dedicated to the prevention of cruelty and abuse to animals."

I wonder if they consider "killing" and "eating" to be abuse or cruelty?

Maybe someone can come up with a veggie "Ribbettes"... wait...that sounds like a frog..

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

My sister (or my mom, I forget which) actually wrote to Worthington and asked them to make vegetarian frog legs.

Go ahead and write your letter, Woody. Be sure to look up information on CAFO's (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations, aka Factory Farms) so you can add accurate, factual information about the inhumane conditions those animals that will become that meal lived in throughout their entire lives.
