Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted July 14, 2010 Members Posted July 14, 2010 Teens are biting one another.. Quote: Biting is Becoming the New Teen Fad Jul 10, 2010 Kerrie Troseth Vampire Fads Common Among Teens - jdurham on MorgueFile Teens are expressing feelings for one another in a new way. The way is emulating vampires and biting one another. One way that parents know if their child is growing up is when the child begins experimenting. This is a sure sign that the child is proceeding towards independence. No longer are the parents the central figure of role modeling. Teens begin to test out situations on their own to come to their own conclusions. One such experiment is biting. Emergence of Biting Among Teenagers Most new fads are bought about by the media: movies, television, music, and magazines. Biting is no exception. Today's media is filled with the concept of vampires. Unlike vampires of the past, today's vampires display feelings of love. Intertwined in the love is biting the loved one and sharing blood. This is believed to equate to the ultimate form of love expression. There are plenty of vampire themes in the media today. The most well-known is Edward from the Twilight movies. Television series like the Vampire Diaries and True Blood portray vampires living among the open. Biting as the New Teen Fad Biting is strongly taking over as this generation's hickey (or hickie). The two are similar in that both forms of affection symbolize ownership. It is apparent that if someone is sporting a bite or hickey, that person usually is connected to a partner. The difference is that the hickey is actually a bruising of the skin, and the bite is piercing the skin to draw out blood. Some believe that the drawing of the blood intertwines two people. One person is giving his blood to another who is then consuming it. They believe that they share of themselves. Some older teens and young adults symbolize the event by getting a specific tattoo on their wrist. The tattoo is a depiction of faux fangs bite marks. Discovering the Love Language of a Teenage Child Although teens need for parents to express love with all five love languages, a teenage child usually has a primary love language they prefer. The Dangers of Biting Most adults realize the dangers of this fad. The intermixing of blood with one another can be extremely dangerous if not deadly. Blood carries oxygen, carbon dioxide, and elements like nutrients, hormonesm diseases and infections throughout the body. Blood diseases and aliments can be attributed to the exchange of blood with another person. The following are a few examples: Hepatitis Human Immunodeficiency Virus Syphilis Also consider that the human mouth contains 10-15 billion bacteria. The biter could pass on bacteria to the other person causing a general blood infection. Tetanus shots are the general treatment for human bites. full story Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted July 14, 2010 Author Members Posted July 14, 2010 The rubber bands aren't nearly as dangerous as the biting. But someone is making a fortune off those Sillybandz. SivartM Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 I'm hoping the whole "biting" thing is overblown; sometimes purported teen fads are just rumors. I haven't as yet met anyone who's admitted to doing this. Then again, most people I know wouldn't do this. olger Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 overblown or "overbite"? Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

Liz Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 When my oldest was around two, he went through a biting phase, but mainly just me. Thankfully he out grew it. Hopefully these teens are just biting people they know, and not just randomly doing it. That would be really creepy. As for those sillybandz, my daughter is soooo into those. I wish I could come up with a simple idea like that and make some big bucks. Quote For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? LifeHiscost Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 White Horse Media has a series on the occult which includes vampirism, just another evidence of present society yielding themselves over to the forces of the prince of darkness, mostly as a result of being deceived, but some as a result of deliberate antagonism against God. Kountzer Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 I thought the big booger bear was the harry potter series. Over the last few years I kept seeing people in line (I work in a driver license office) at work carrying and reading these big black and white novels, with chess pieces on the cover. I didn't know what it was all about until I watched Steve Wohlberg on 3ABN last week. I don't think there is such a thing as a real human vampire. I think there are people out there that want to be such. Quote I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs. Frederick Douglass
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted July 15, 2010 Author Members Posted July 15, 2010 I have a friend who drank blood when she was still into witchcraft (she was born into a family of witches). She now has a very serious blood disorder that is incurable. She became a Christian, while the rest of her family is still involved in the occult.
