Overaged Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 The reason for the presence of drug lords with AK47's would cease to exist.Just as the reason for those that made a great deal of money during prohibition ceased. Quote: "Legalized" drugs don't work either. What's being proposed here has never worked anywhere it's been tried in any form - and what do you mean when you say "work?" What we are doing is certainly not working. Many are dying as a result of turf wars.Dealers coming out of Mexico to provide a illegal substance. The turf wars would get worse because the stakes would be higher. And you haven't adressed the concern about how legalization of these filthy drugs would better society or protect the thousands of new young people who would be ruined because the drug lord's "job" would be so much easier. While it may seem that "controls" do not work; they actually work a lot better than the other way around. Even one life saved from the drug world is worth it. Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." (Job 37:21)"I cannot know why suddenly the stormshould rage so fiercely round me in it's wrathBut this I know: God watches all my pathAnd I can trust""God helps us to draw strength from the storm" - OveragedFaith makes things possible; it does not make them easy, Steps To Christ

Never thought it would stamp out drug use.I am not sure it would make it worse. There would be no reason for turf wars. If I could walk into a drug store and purchase pot, speed or?? at a reasonable price where would the turf wars be.Who is protecting the thousands of young people that are being ruined now? While alcohol consumption has not gone away the large sums of money to be made by organized crime and the murders that resulted have. Our way now doesn't seem to be working Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
