Moderators Bravus Posted July 27, 2010 Moderators Posted July 27, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgg2tpUVbXQ (I love this video but don't agree with the narrator's conclusion that it shows how small we are - we're the same size we've always been. It just shows how big the universe is) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppTtiTWQxDE (recently a new star has been discovered at least twice as large again as the two Cepheids that end this video) Quote Truth is important
Moderators Bravus Posted July 27, 2010 Author Moderators Posted July 27, 2010 8 pages on 'Speak English or Die!' and not a single response to the beauty of Creation...? Quote Truth is important

Dottie Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Have you ever seen the "indescribable" lectures/video by Louis Giglio? Very positive. Quote
nuff sed Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I suggest that you obtain the DVD "How Great is Our God" first. Purchase it from somewhere like Amazon if you want it cheaper than at the Louie Giglio site. I have three of his DVDs and they are all excellent ........ nuff sed Quote
Amelia Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Awesome, awesome video. Boggles my mind when I think about how far into space man can see. And yet there is more and more and more...... God is great indeed. GreatLakesGramma Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 8 pages on 'Speak English or Die!' and not a single response to the beauty of Creation...? Some of us prefer to wait until we have time to watch the video before we comment on it. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Lewis
D. Allan Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Amazing! (nice music too) I was just reading yesterday in Discovery magazine that the universe is believed to be composed of 82% "Dark" matter, and just 18% visible. Now just how mystifying is that!!! Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted July 28, 2010 Administrators Posted July 28, 2010 Yes, beyond amazing!! I would also correct the stated size of the universe by saying that is the size of the "known" universe. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
Moderators Gerr Posted July 28, 2010 Moderators Posted July 28, 2010 What an AWESOME CREATOR!!! Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted July 28, 2010 Author Moderators Posted July 28, 2010 I agree. My reaction was like Amelia's: these videos are an antidote to having a too-small idea of God. The God who created this immense universe is Himself immense... Quote Truth is important
Members phkrause Posted July 28, 2010 Members Posted July 28, 2010 Have you ever seen the "indescribable" lectures/video by Louis Giglio? Very positive. those are really awesome Dottie. I borrowed a set and copied them for myself. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Moderators Gerr Posted July 29, 2010 Moderators Posted July 29, 2010 I agree. My reaction was like Amelia's: these videos are an antidote to having a too-small idea of God. The God who created this immense universe is Himself immense... Consider: there are billions of galaxies. Each galaxy has billions of SUNS. And if each sun just one inhabited planet. And if EACH inhabited planet has a million or a billion persons. There must be more people in the universe than the sands in this planet. And IF each person is able to communicate with God AS THOUGH THERE IS NOT ANOTHER BEING IN THE UNIVERSE, what does that say about the infinitude of our awesome Creator!!!!!!! Quote
Moderators lazarus Posted July 29, 2010 Moderators Posted July 29, 2010 That is incredible, especially the last video. He sent his Son to die... on this minuscule planet? Amazing. Thanks, Bravus. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence. Einstein
jasd Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 >>8 pages on 'Speak English or Die!' and not a single response to the beauty of Creation...?<< Read: 30 pages. And, why bother with a 17" video when - if we speak English - one day, we'll be able to take the Grand Tour! (okay everybody, ...just kidding! :) Quote

Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted July 30, 2010 Members Posted July 30, 2010 ...uhmm.. we've got over 11,000 posts on "Did someone say photography isn't art?" Most of those are of nature. btw, I think the pictures sent back by the Hubble are fantastic. Thanks for putting the links up, Bravus. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
