Elihu on the Sabbath

John, in Romans 7:12, the word for law is:

3) the rule of action prescribed by reason

of the Mosaic law, and referring, acc. to the context. either to the volume of the law or to its contents

c) the Christian religion: the law demanding faith, the moral instruction given by Christ, esp. the precept concerning love

d) the name of the more important part (the Pentateuch), is put for the entire collection of the sacred books of the OT

That is the definition in Strong's, take your pick.

The quote from Strong's is food for thought.

Here's a thought that some will find radical (it is not to start a controversy or to digress but to link the Sabbath to its right place in endtime events):

The Sabbath is the endtime issue that will test God's people. But the command (that by the definition above is a law): 'do not take the mark of the beast.' Thus as I read it in the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy, it is possible to take the mark of the beast before it gets attached to Sabbath observance. That is not the traditional SDA take on the Mark of the Beast. But the implications are far reaching and need to established from Scripture and the Spirit of Prophecy or laid to rest with a fitting Bible study lest we take tradition as fact without confirming it by the sure word of God.

Has any one else found that in their study? Or found evidence to disprove the notion?

The 10 Virgins come to mind. Apparently they have pure doctrine and lamps, but they are LOST. The implication is that for them to have pure doctrines, they understood the Sabbath, but they were deceived.

Food for thought, and study...

Alas you have hit the nail on the head.

We are so busy trying to make ends meet that we fail to study as we need to. And with the economy faltering, too many of us spin our wheels just trying to survive.

Point being, we have unproductive time or have to spend too much time wearing ourselves out for things that have no spiritual value. Then we are tired and sacrifice Bible study time for activities that are relaxing or to get much needed sleep.

But there are issues that we must understand to be fitted for getting the word out to God's people and so that we will be fitted to meet Jesus at His Advent.
