Dottie Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Ours was last weekend, but I found that supplies were so much cheaper the week before the tax-free weekend that I bought them then. Compositions books for $.50. and folders for a penny, etc. Quote
Liz Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 WOW Dottie!!! You did find some great bargains!!! Were these major retail chain stores, or were you just keeping an eye out at your local dollar store or what?? Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted August 19, 2010 Members Posted August 19, 2010 Oregon has a tax free weekend EVERY weekend. That's true, it does. And people from Washington and California and Idaho (and from other places outside of Oregon and the US) routinely come to Oregon to purchase goods so they don't have to pay a sales tax. So the State never receives any money from people patronizing Oregon items. I think Oregon *should* have a sales tax so it can collect money from those other people who come through here. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Dottie Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Some of the items were at Wal-Mart, and some were at Office Depot. I have found that it pays to get the Sunday paper. The first one of the month usually has the best buys. Quote
