Woody Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 I have a technical question: Do dogs poop in pools? The reason I ask is that our local community pool is having a dog and family swim day. Yes, for $10 you and your family and your family dog can all swim in the pool together. (Along with your neighbors' dogs also.) So, I ask you ... is this sanitary? OR ... should the dogs be required to wear diapers? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
GreatLakesGramma Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 No, I don't believe a dog would do that. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Lewis
Administrators Gail Posted August 18, 2010 Administrators Posted August 18, 2010 Our dog doesn't poop in pools, but she will pee. I've seen her do it in lakes and puddles. But people do that, too, or so I've heard. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Liz Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Actually according to Wiki, they can and do poop in the pool. But I wouldn't want to swim with the animals because of all the shedding hair--yucko. Woody Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 Interesting. They say they have over a hundred dogs and people swimming each year at this special event. Like you though ... even if there weren't poop ... I wouldn't want the hair and fleas. Btw ... do fleas swim? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members phkrause Posted August 18, 2010 Members Posted August 18, 2010 fleas. Btw ... do fleas swim? They will, unless they wear there floats. LOL Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
GreatLakesGramma Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 No, fleas don't swim. But they can survive under water for a long time. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Guest Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I would rather swim with the fleas and the hair, than with dog poop any day. Mr. Murphy doesn't poop unless I tell him to. Unless he's in his pen. Quote
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted August 19, 2010 Moderators Posted August 19, 2010 Dogs will pee. A local swimming pool has a dog day--no humans allowed at $3 per dog. It is on the last day the pool is open--they drain the pool the next day. They do a good business. Quote Gregory
Woody Posted August 19, 2010 Author Posted August 19, 2010 How much do they pay the lifeguard on that day? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Administrators Gail Posted August 19, 2010 Administrators Posted August 19, 2010 Up here one of our local lakes is shared by both dogs and people. Nobody seems to mind. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Administrators Gail Posted August 19, 2010 Administrators Posted August 19, 2010 And--- there is no chlorine in the lake. People fish there so they have to keep it livable for the fish. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
