Closure of Christian Organizations Operating Inside Somalia

Mogadishu, (27/ 08 /1431 – 08/08/2010) – As of today, all the organisations listed below can no longer operate inside Somalia:

 World Vision

 ADRA

 Diakonia

The Office for Supervising the Affairs of Foreign Agencies (OSAFA) has reached this decision after taking the following into account:

 The aforementioned organizations have been found to be actively propagating Christianity in this Muslim country.

 The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) was started by the Seventh-day Adventist Church as a way to follow Christ’s example.

 Diakonia is an organization founded in 1966 by five Swedish churches and the members of these congregations form Diakonia's support base. The primary goal of this organization is to spread the Christian faith.

 World Vision is a Christian organization motivated by what they call ‘their faith in Jesus Christ’ and dedicated to spreading the message of Christianity to the children, families, and the communities they work with.

 Acting as missionaries under the guise of humanitarian work, the organizations have been spreading their corrupted ideologies in order to taint the pure creed of the Muslims in Somalia.

 Along with their missionary work, the proliferation of corruption and indecency has become prevalent as a result of their presence.

Thus in order to safeguard the wellbeing of the Muslim population of this country, OSAFA has decided to terminate the operations of the above agencies in Somalia.

Any other organizations found to be engaged in similar activities as the above are hereby warned that they will be promptly closed, as the propagation of the Christian faith is unacceptable in Islam as well as in the Muslim society.

All NGOs and organizations are also warned that if they undertake the work of a particular organization, after it has been closed by OSAFA, they will face an appropriate disciplinary measure.

Wow, I'm even surprised that Mogadishu allowed these organizations in, in the first place. Talk about paranonia, especially when it comes to ADRA, not sure about the other ones, but ADRA does so much where ever they are.
