GreatLakesGramma Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Michigan is having an outbreak of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE). EEE is one of the most dangerous mosquito-borne diseases in the US. Although rare in humans, it kills about 33% of human victims and leaves most survivors with significant brain damage. There have been 3 human victims in Michigan this summer, the first since 2002. Two are recovering, one is in critical condition in the hospital. Eighteen horses have tested positive, with more than 50 additional horses dead throughout the state. Wouldn't you know, after reading that article, while I was in the bathroom a mosquito came after me! And I couldn't find it to kill it. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." -- C. S. Lewis
Members phkrause Posted August 27, 2010 Members Posted August 27, 2010 Yeah we have something like that here in Mass. Someone actually died already and they even live in Lancaster. But I haven't heard anything else about it. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
SivartM Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Oh great... I'm a hypochondriac... Quote "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar WildeDo to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets." - Jesus

GreatLakesGramma Posted August 27, 2010 Author Posted August 27, 2010 Just avoid mosquitoes and you'll be fine, Sivart. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
