Huffington Post Offers $100,000 for Sex Tapes, Phone Records to Destroy Glenn Beck

In the wake of Glenn Beck's hugely successful Restoring Honor rally held in Washington, D.C. this weekend, the Huffington Post has published an offer of $100,000 to anyone with evidence that would destroy Beck's reputation and take him off the political/cultural battlefield.

An essay written by Beau Friedlander, the last editor-in-chief of Air America before it shut down this year, was posted in the Politics section of the Huffington Post today with the title, $100,000 For Glenn Beck's Sex Tape.

Friedlander says he will not use his own money for the hit, but that he will "broker" the deal.

It is time to pop the tea baggers' favorite balloon (so what if it will be replaced by another?), and with that in mind I hereby offer to negotiate a $100,000 payday to the person who will come forward with a sex tape or phone records or anything else that succeeds in removing Glenn Beck from the public eye forever. I am not offering the cash myself, but I will broker the deal and/or raise the money for what you bring to the table. (And it better be good.)

Friedlander couches his offer in the context of Andrew Breitbart's offer of $100,000 for the Journolist listserve messages, but this is more in line with pornographer Larry Flynt's blackmail campaign against Congressmen during Bill Clinton's impeachment, which followed a threat from Clinton conveyed by George Stephanopoulos to expose their sex lives.

Number one wants to divert the attention to the rediculous so as to minimize this purely obscene offer.

Second one is to let us all know that this really isn't a problem or to be objected to,As long as Glenn Beck has nothing to hide. If he does it comes across as it will be Becks fault.

If one found himself in trouble or called to account for some behaviour they tried very hard to divert attention to their siblings. Knowing for sure the sins of their brothers would be viewed as worse than theirs.

In one way the reaction,hate and vengence towards Glenn Beck is rather humorous.

Is ability to gather the crowd he did this weekend must scare the daylights out of many. Obama is lucky if he can draw a couple of hundred.

In another way Glenn becks ability to do what he did is a little unsettling.

My dad was a highly intelligent man.He passed away in 1993, long before the recent events.

He had a theory concerning what he thought would usher in end time events.

While he was a lifelong republican he had a word of caution.He felt the time might come that the democrats had made such a goodless and corrupt enviornment, americans would be hungry for

something different.All it would take is a charismatic individual that had the ability to lead and gain a large following.That may well be a republican.

Regardless,the idolization of Obama was and is dangerous. The immense following and the inconvenience tens of thousands gladly went thru is dangerous as well.

In your profession I would think you would have a little more respect for what the little word ASSUME stands for.Either that or your crystal ball needs to be replaced.

I did not draw attention to that minor portion of the post.It was strictly about Glenn Beck and the dirt bag offering a generous reward for anyone that could dig up dirt.

There is far to many other IMPORTANT issues concerning Obama that are far more serious than this.
