Glenn Beck's movement

I have been listening to Glenn Beck for a long time. He is a very charismatic fellow, very gifted. This gathering was very interesting to say the very least of it. This movement could lead to the false theocracy that we have been warned about. People like Glenn Back are not bad people. They mean well. Their goal is to save America before it is too late but they are going to do it the wrong way. This movement could lead to the union of church and state, the state being the puppet of the church in order to bring the nation back to God. Religion will take the ascendency (position of dominance) and the persecutions of the past will be rekindled. Satan will perform signs and wonders and the whole world will stand in awe believing that it is the power of God at work.

I am afraid that the warnings of what Glenn Beck's ideas might lead to give me cause for hope. Why are we always become alarmed when we see things happening which might have an effect on bringing about some of the very movements as prophesied in the Bible and SOP leading to the Second Coming???

I have decided that I am going to give Mr. Beck a nudge with some of "Our" unique beliefs which show that he is moving in the right direction.. Let's get this thing over with and get out of here................ 'nuff sed

Beck's credibility has really gone down hill since he has partnered with David Barton. David Barton teaches that the founders never wanted a separation of church and state. Many Adventists are getting sucked into Beck's charisma. Beck is a great family man and has a lot of good to offer but is wasting a lot of his talent now.

Wait... we're basically talking about "Sunday laws", right? And we should encourage Glenn Beck to go in that direction? Which would restrict our freedoms and be unethical?

David Barton has been an outspoken and well known(where've you been,Richard?)critic of the contemporary interpretation of the first amendment regarding church/state separation. He's been around almost 30 years now. He specializes in drawing a different understanding of the issue by utilizing mountains of founder's quotes and historical facts.Unlike most Adventists, I agree with many of his conclusions. Our Religious Liberty leaders have historically portrayed him as a misleading con man.Unfortunately, Barton does mix flies in the apothecary and some of his conclusions are unwarranted and misleading. On the other hand, I find that our RL Dept. throws out the baby with the bathwater.Read his stuff. He's definitely not boring.

I don't think I have ever heard Barton or Beck calling for national religion, in fact Historian that Beck is, I think will point that they saw that as something to be feared, like England had. But both of them bring forth that God was very much part of our founding. Quite true, even though some were Diests, no belief in Jesus His Son.

Beck is more afraid of losing the Republic, which I agree we are headed for, maybe owned by China with our debt.

Many are more afraid of Barton/Beck then they are of present realities.

That's a gross distortion of what Barton actually teaches. After all, if they were against C/T why the 1st ammendment? They created something they were actually against??I don't think Barton is that dumb!
