bonnie Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 From the looks of those pics ... I'd say the fear is justified. I think a lot of the sentiment towards muslims is resentment and frustration more than fear that they are here to kill all they can More than likely we will get hit again and probably by the same mind set. Much of the reaction that muslims experience is brought on by their own demands and behavior. Their religion should be respected but not as a faith a rung or two above all others, and one that must be catered to. There are employers here that will refuse to hire a muslim. It of course is not stated as such but there application is tossed or put at the bottom. To hire a muslim is a lawsuit waiting to happen. They will apply and accept a position they know will cause them to violate their religious principals, then turn around and sue to make the company make special concessions.Generally winning. Here they get paid prayer breaks in addition to their regular paid breaks. They can insist a service dog for the handicapped not be in the same room with them. Even in the scehduled Quran burning, worldwide attention was focused on that.As if the muslims should be exempt from being offended because they are muslims. I wouldn't be afraid to bet if someone wanted to burn the catholic bible in their backyard that world wide condemnation would occur. In this instance it probably was fear, knowing that rioting and killing would happen. Muslims should have the same protections as all religions, not more because they are muslims. It will be tough to go thru life without being offended. Those that have come here for a better life have to accept the "freedoms" they don't like as well. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
Dr. Shane Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 9/11 was a result of many years of hatred. The extremist Muslims believe the attack was justified because the West has been exporting its infidel culture (movies, music, drugs, dress, sexuality) around the world. The extremist Muslims blame the US (rather than Saddam) for all the Iraqi deaths that occurred as a result of the UN's Iraqi Embargo. There was a lot of resentment and hatred building up over the years within certain Muslim sects that all came to fruition on 9/11. The result of the attack was that many Americans began to hate Muslims for what these Americans saw as an unprovoked attack. These Americans than started to lash out at Muslim communities - most of which are not part of the extremists sects which attacked the country. Thus we see a cycle of hatred. So this is the cycle: Extremists Muslim sects hate the west Extremist Muslims attack on 9/11 The attacks of 9/11 cause some Americans to hate Muslims The hatred toward the Muslims results in demonstrations and acts of violence toward them It is the cycle of hatred. The only thing the attack on 9/11 accomplished was to cause more hated. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Woody Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Quote: The only thing the attack on 9/11 accomplished was to cause more hated. I agree. So, the Muslims win the war ... for hatred is what they wanted. They certaily aren't after LOVE. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. SivartM Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Christians aren't after love either. They'd be happy if all Muslims were shot. Or is that just some Christians? If we want to beat the terrorists, we'll welcome friendly Muslims with open arms just like we ought to do for anyone. They are not pests, they are people. Quote "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar WildeDo to others whatever you would like them to do to you. Dr. Shane Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 How should we treat the unfriendly Muslims? Approximately 1/3 of Muslims sympathize with the terrorist sects. How should those be treated? Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

GreatLakesGramma Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I have learned that if I want to destroy an enemy, I must make him my friend...... That is a good thought, but unfortunately, there are those who do not want to be your friend, and will only despise you more for your attempts to befriend them. And I'm not talking only about Muslims vs. Christians. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. Not sure who you are responding to. For me,saying muslim does not mean anything else but muslim. So far those that have killed americans either here or in other suicide bombings have been muslim I believe. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Gordon1 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Christ was not afraid of other religions. He warned the greatest danger came from within the church. "They shall put you out of the synagogues (congregations): yea, the time cometh that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service." (John 16:2) Ellen White did not have a vision of Muslims or Buddhists or Shintoists assaulting her home. Rather it was a Catholic procession, but when she looked closer they were members of her own church. (1T 578) This clearly shows it was the spirit of the Inquisition which had entered the hearts of her fellow believers - they had been taken captive by Satan and could not tolerate her role as messenger, so set out to eliminate her. This happened to Christ and will happen again. Christians do not fear for their lives because Christ never taught them to fear. TV and media will teach us to fear, but these are not Christ's tools. Quote

I don't think most want to die.A christian does not have to fear the unknown. But christian or not I doubt anyone would calmly sit there waiting to burn to death because of the comfort of Christs teachings. I thinkn there was more than a little fear of the pain of a slow agonizing death.Or splattering themselves all over the sidewalk when they panicked at the thought of burning to death.Nor do I think anyone cared at the time who was responsible. Perhaps you would have felt different but I don't think so. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make.
