As The Days of Noah...

And as it came to pass in the days of Noah, even so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise even as it came to pass in the days of Lot; they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all: after the same manner shall it be in the day that the Son of man is revealed. (Luke 17:26-30)

Notice the parallel the Lord makes with the days of Noah and the days of Lot. We don't have much of a list about the sins before the flood but we do in regard to Sodom. The sins of Sodom were pride, gluttony, drunkenness and sexual promiscuity.

Are not these signs all around us today? Alcohol consumption is at an all time high. Obesity is a major societal problem. Pre-marital sex is an accepted norm. Homosexuals march in gay pride parades. Is not the coming of the Lord soon?

Labor pain signs, Shane.

IMHO, the gospel into ALL the world, and the ripening of the grain would be more reliable signs.

Does the Days of Noah point to something else. He didn't have the 10 Commandments, only 7 Noahide Laws. Google it. This was what the good Gentile followed that was not part of the Jews from Exodus to Christ's death. Is there a parallel here?

Pride, gluttony, drunkenness and sexual promiscuity have always been issues in secular society. At sometimes greater than others. However today we sees these sins as common in the church as in the world. Certainly this is a sign of the times. Jesus is coming soon.

There are many things that could be used as a sign, if someone so desires, although sex issues seems to excite people the most, not sure why!

We are not just talking about sex. I am not sure why you only mentioned sex. Hmmmm, [scratches head]

Anyway. I am talking about all these pre-diluvian sins. I don't want to get hung up on the big "S" word. That would be pointless. Let's consider drunkness in the church. I have Facebook friends that are active in the church and regularly update their status with drinking stories. And pride... I think that is the mother of all sins. It seems to be as rampant in Christian circles as it is in the secular world. And gluttony... well, I think a lot of church folks would rather toss the "S" word around than talk about that cherish sin.

Jesus is coming. Lift up the trumpet. Load let it ring. Jesus is coming again!
