PAMPA - Martha Aileen Childers, 90, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, in Amarillo.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery with Jim Wart, pastor of Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Childers was born Oct. 7, 1919, in Amarillo to Aubry and Minnie Lancaster. She graduated from Mobeetie High School in 1937 as salutatorian. She married Leonard "Bob" Childers on Dec. 20, 1941, in Sayre, Okla. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1941. In 1969, at the age of 50, she obtained her LVN license and worked as a nurse until her retirement. Aileen enjoyed hobbies, crafts and loved to fish. She was a member and church pianist for the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Pampa.

Aileen was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Morgan Mosby, in 2001; a grandson, Jeremy Thomson, in 2005; and three brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Childers of the home; two daughters, Sandra Kay Adcox and husband John of Grand Junction, Colo., and Bobbye Thomson and husband John of St. Maries, Idaho; a twin sister, Eileen Zell of Bethany, Okla.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
