Twilight Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I was watching a programme on British TV the other week. It was basically arguing that arguing against evolution was non-scientific with the usual biased viewpoint. But what was interesting was that the programme pushed the idea that if you believe in evolution and a "god" that set up a system and let it run, then God has a place in science. Now what is interesting here, is that the RCC accepts evolution as viable. Consider this. We know there is going to be a worldwide false revival before Jesus comes. Now consider this. Who are all the evolutionists going to turn to, when they start seeing evidence of supernatural events. Is it the Adventists that hold to the Creation account? Or is it the Roman Catholic Church and its acceptance of evolution? Satan is setting up the pieces. The media is starting to encourage people that it is okay to accept the idea of God, as long as you leave evolution in place. Now obviously, evolution is a direct attack on the 7 days of literal creation the bible teaches. But what is the mark of that Special Act of Creation? The Sabbath. Now does it make sense why the RCC can happily accept Evolutionay theory as a viable option? Yes. Because it does not interfere with their agenda whatsoever. Whereas the Sabbath Day does... Over to you. Mark Quote The best wisdom is always second hand...
Moderators John317 Posted October 5, 2010 Moderators Posted October 5, 2010 I think you make a very good argument there, Mark. Aong with that, Ellen White says before Christ returns, a large portion of SDAs will leave the Adventist church and join Babylon. They will do this because while they've known the SDA doctrines, they haven't been sanctified by them. In their thinking, they've always been in Babylon, so it will be only natural that they eventually join the side they really agree with. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

I think a lot of this is down to the mistaken idea that we have no part in our sanctification. Which is off-topic, but will have to open that one up at some time soon. :-) Quote The best wisdom is always second hand...

Very good point Doug. In the UK, all we see on the tv on every channel is this promoting of Evolution. I am beginning to realise that this will help satan and his cause in the great split that is to come. Those that have reached out and taken hold of evolution, will find it very easy to move over to the RCC and clasp its hands. They will of course argue for "tolerance" and "understanding". But when was the last time you saw an Evolutionist arguing for "tolerance and understanding" for the Creationist view? Quote The best wisdom is always second hand...
Dr. Shane Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Evolution is clearing an attack on the Sabbath. It is no coincidence that the Adventist church was called to preach the Three Angels Messages just a few years after Darwin published his Origin of The Species. The purpose of the Adventist movement is to preach against evolution. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

Woody Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Good points Sivart. Evolution is a proven fact and observation in our lives. You can certainly believe in both evolution and creation. BSW Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Quote: You can certainly believe in both evolution and creation. I believe evolution is just as much a religion as any. It is a master distraction tooled by the devil. To mingle it with God is foolish "unholy spiritual love". I have seen the results of these fanciful views of God, in apostasy, spiritualism, and free-lovism. The free love tendency of these teachings was so concealed that at first it was difficult to make plain its real character. Until the Lord presented it to me, I knew not what to call it, but I was instructed to call it unholy spiritual love. [TESTIMONIES, VOL. 8, P. 292.] As in the days of the apostles men tried by tradition and philosophy to destroy faith in the Scriptures, so today, by the pleasing sentiments of higher criticism, evolution, spiritualism, theosophy, and pantheism, the enemy of righteousness is seeking to lead souls into forbidden paths. . . . By spiritualism, multitudes are taught to believe that desire is the highest law, that license is liberty, and that man is accountable only to himself. [THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES, P. 474.] I don't think one could throw evolution in place of spiritualism and call it much of a stretch in that last sentence. Notwithstanding, consciousness after death is a most heinous heresy. Quote

What's there to consider? That's what the 3 angels message is. Not only is Creation and the Sabbath at the center of it but its at the center of the 10 Commandments and the Bible. Dr. Shane Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 There are Christian scientists who believe strongly in their religion and also believe in evolution. There are some denominations that are not Sola Scriptura. Some follow tradition more. Some follow emotions and personal experience more. Some follow logic more. For those that follow Sola Scriptura, as Adventists do, Darwinism is not an option. There is no room for compromise. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... doug yowell Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 But you can believe in evolution and still believe that God is the creator...YOu mean micro or macro evolution? If macro, that redefines the historical meaning of creation. Instead of; God spoke and it appeared instantaneously,it's now;God did something(we're not sure what)and hundreds of millions of years later (give or take a couple hundred million)it finally turned into a.......Very impressive? Twilight Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 But there are Christian scientists who also believe in evolution. And when the test comes, where do you think they will side? If they have been decieved now, it will take a mighty work to release them from that deception during the little time of trouble... Sidenote: Remember, a scientist is someone like you and me in a white coat. This idea they are objective and totally logical is an urban myth. We all have bias. There are many that have never considered the claims of Creationism because they have been indoctrinated from birth. There are also those that have withstood Creationism at every opportunity.
