I would say "Yes," at two of the churches in my sphere. One in TN and my home church in Umatilla, FL.

He would be caught up with to get involved programs, talking, teaching...not that there aren't plenty of willing people but they seem to recognize those with willing hearts. If the person is travel worn, like Jesus and His disciples might be, it would not matter. PTL!

Question of the day, would Jesus be allowed to be a member of your congregation or community?

Excellent question Stan, and I'm sad to say I'm not sure. :( I would hope they would.

I think perhaps Jesus would be allowed to be a member. For a time anyway. But I doubt He would be allowed to be a leader.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

Member of the congregation? Sure. Nobody pays any attention to anyone else anyway.

Member of the community? Sure. All illegal aliens are welcome here. He can get a driver's license, credit cards, food stamps, housing, free medical care (but He'd probably be on the "giving" end), free education (but He doesn't need that)...

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Absolutely! We have people of many ethnic backgrounds, of every economic level, very many lifestyles, job types and personalities.

New members are always welcome.

Let's not forget that Jesus was crucified for speaking the Truth and doing His Father's will. This would not change.

So yes He could join and yes He'd be killed.

He promised this in John 16:2 and the scriptures cannot be broken.

I think a better question would be; would Jesus want to be a member of your congregation......

For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Mat. 16:26

I have thought about this before and it is my opinion that many people wouldn't mind it Jesus came to their house or church, but they would not want Him to say anything. I think they like the idea of a God that keeps quiet and does not correct their beliefs and faith. Perhaps this is why most make up their own god the way they would want their God to be.

Isn't that exactly what you and the boys have done?

For what He has to give, the answer is yes. For what He would receive, it would depend upon the desire of the congregation. The day He was crucified isn't over yet.

" For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come— and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame."Heb 6:4-6 NLT

"If they then deviate from the faith and turn away from their allegiance--[it is impossible] to bring them back to repentance, for (because, while, as long as) they nail upon the cross the Son of God afresh [as far as they are concerned] and are holding [Him] up to contempt and shame and public disgrace." AMP parenthesis theirs LHC

It is important to remember the bold as stated in the Amplified, lest anyone think the unrepentant are without hope.

Only those who die in unrepentance are lost to the kingdom.
