Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted October 26, 2010 Members Posted October 26, 2010 Here's another quiz to take: How many germs are living on your cell phone? I don't even *want* to tell you how many it says are on mine! (But it's over 100K) Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
GreatLakesGramma Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 They never asked how often you actually use your cell phone. The answer would be less than once a month for me. I doubt that there are any significant number of germs on mine at all. I didn't even take any pictures with it at the wedding I went to yesterday, because I remembered to take my camera this time. Lewis
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted October 26, 2010 Author Members Posted October 26, 2010 That's a good thought, GLG. I don't use mine much either.. but then, I would think the test would hold some truth for land line phones, too. aldona Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 How many germs are living on your skin surface? (no, don't go and scrub your skin repeatedly to try to get rid of them - all you will achieve is to encourage resistant germs to colonize your skin, and create lots of little breaks in your skin so they can get in and cause disease). How many germs are on your clothes? Your shoes? The surface of your food? Your furniture? The dirt under your feet? How did humanity ever survive before the invention of disinfectants to sterilize everything? GreatLakesGramma Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Most of the germs on our phones and around our house are harmless. In fact, I've read that they are important to our well-being, because they stimulate the immune system and keep it prepared to deal with the harmful ones. The same article said that since Americans have become so paranoid about disinfecting everything, they are getting sick more than their ancestors. I don't buy germicidal soaps, just the good old-fashioned REAL soap. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. The researchers concluded that it was a *good* thing to do because it boosted the immune system. I'm not going to do it, though. Yuck.
