Got some extra time on your hands today, Stan?

I know exactly who that is. It's PUPPY!!!

I've been following his adventures, too :)

He enjoys looking out at the scenery, too!

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Puppy looks like he/she is learning quite an advanced piece of music there.

Will we see him/her making a debut at Carnegie Hall some time soon?

And he/she has a very decent piano too - a Yamaha. A lot of humans wish they had one of those. I'm jealous - I want one for the waiting room at work.

As I heard it recently, some people think Puppy has been over-exposed. Puppy doesn't care. He likes attention. like a politician, I guess - negative attention is better than a yawn.

I have a Yamaha, Aldona. I inherited it from my in-laws. My mother in law bought it as part of a package deal with an Allen organ with money she inherited from her uncle. The piano is now worth 3 times what she paid for it, while the organ is worth a fraction of its original cost.

A piano in a waiting room, Aldona - interesting concept. Would you dispense earplugs for when the 2-yr-olds are experimenting?

Potluck Puppy is waiting anxiously for his ravioli.

Looks to me like he's got his eyes on the tomatoes.

If this Puppy is like most, he spends his time eying anything that is possibly edible, but that doesn't stop him from wanting ravioli. I understand he has his own Facebook now: Puppy's Facebook

Yeah, what about Blossom? I don't know. Donkeys eat grass. And oranges. So what else can I say?

Oh, so blossom is a donkey. Thanks for clearing that up. They are very similar.

Ideally the piano would have a lid over the keyboard that could be locked when not in use. Then, when the patients have gone home, the doctors (and anybody else who can play) can come out and play.

I don't know if our friends in other countries have heard of Dr Geoffrey Edelsten. It was he who first inspired me with the idea of the piano in the waiting room. He once owned a chain of "VIP" medical clinics with just such a feature, and I don't know if he even plays.

Here is his website - if you scroll down to point 5 ("Group Practice") you will see a few pictures of his waiting rooms complete with pianos, including one photo of the good doctor sitting at the piano.

Dr Geoff Edelsten

I don't know if he is actively working as a doctor any more. I vaguely remember him losing his licence to practice medicine for a while, for some kind of misbehavior or malpractice. I think he is back, but he is more well known now for owning football teams, mixing with the rich and famous, and turning up to every fancy function with his glamorous wife who is less than half his age.

If he can have pianos in his waiting rooms, then those of us medicos who actually love music should be able to do so as well.

The only difference is that I would not choose a white baby grand. I think that looks tacky. A nice black Yamaha would be perfect.

When Puppy and Prof. Emeritus Stan met face-to-face for the first time, onlookers didn't know which was more surprised.

It's uncanny how much he looks like Rush Limbaugh.

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
