School bullying has got to stop. People, including children, can only endure so much before they snap...

Police: Boy, 12, had plot to kill classmates at Tolt Middle School in Carnation

By Steve Miletich

Seattle Times staff reporter

A 12-year-old Duvall boy, charged with assaulting and harassing members of his family, talked of plans to kill about 20 students and teachers at Tolt Middle School in Carnation, according to court documents.

The boy was expelled from the school Oct. 6 after speaking in a matter-of-fact tone about being tired of bullies picking on him and wanting to "show them whose (sic) boss, " including his desire to point a loaded gun at one child he named, the charging papers say.

The Seattle Times is not naming the boy because he is a juvenile.

The boy, who was taken into protective custody the same day he was expelled, is being held at the King County Youth Detention Center, awaiting further court proceedings, after a judge found him to be a danger to the community

Officers from the Duvall-Carnation Police Department found two shotguns and a 9 mm pistol in a camper where the boy had been staying near his home, according to the charging papers.

School administrators found no guns when they searched him, his backpack and lockers on Oct. 6, the charging papers say.

The boy was charged Oct. 11 with felony harassment-domestic violence for allegedly threatening to harm members of his adoptive family six days earlier. He has pleaded not guilty in that case.

He was charged Oct. 21 with the felony of second-degree assault-domestic violence and harassment-domestic violence, a gross misdemeanor, for allegedly choking his sister during an argument Sept. 9. He will be arraigned Thursday on those charges.

If convicted of the charges, the boy faces 15 to 36 weeks in detention because of his age, said Dan Donohoe, spokesman for the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

The boy could face additional charges related to the school threats, which are under investigation, Donohoe said.

Duvall-Carnation police and a Riverview School District spokeswoman were not immediately available for comment.

According to the charging papers, the boy's mother called police Oct. 6, the day her son was expelled.

She told police that the night before, her son told her how he planned to get back at the bullies, saying he planned to go to a bus stop and point a gun at two boys he named, then go to school and kill about 20 other students who teased him, the charging papers say.

He also said he planned to kill teachers, providing the names of some, before returning home and killing family members, the mother told police.

The mother said she was very afraid of what the boy is capable of doing and that she considered his threat to harm or kill his family legitimate. She said that she was in the process of placing him in a juvenile facility in Montana, the charging papers say.

"He has displayed the intent and the means to follow through on these threats," a police officer wrote in a probable-cause document.

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

I kind of wonder if most bullies aren't that way because they are being bullied themselves, by parents, older siblings, kids in the neighborhood. People who are continually mistreated by those who are more powerful, do often tend to pass it along to those who are weaker.
