"The huge amount of around $200 million would be spent on security, stay and other aspects of the Presidential visit," a top official of the Maharashtra Government privy to the arrangements for the high-profile visit said. About 3,000 people including Secret Service agents, US government officials and journalists would accompany the President. Several officials from the White House and US security agencies are already here for the past one week with helicopters, a ship and high-end security instruments. "Except for personnel providing immediate security to the President, the US officials may not be allowed to carry weapons. The state police is competent to take care of the security measures and they would be piloting the Presidential convoy," the official said on condition of anonymity. Rediff.com Twitter Navy and Air Force has been asked by the state government to intensify patrolling along the Mumbai coastline and its airspace during Obama's stay. The city's airspace will be closed half-an-hour before the President's arrival for all aircraft barring those carrying the US delegation. The personnel from SRPF, Force One, besides the NSG contingent stationed here would be roped in for the President's security, the official said. The area from Hotel Taj, where Obama and his wife Michelle would stay, to Shikra helipad in Colaba would be cordoned off completely during the movement of the President. Maybe indication of some kind during near bankruptcy of the country he "leads" ,many unemployed and losing their homes he might act like he knows what the word sacrifice means.That word he likes to throw at US citizens. Maybe during times like this,"the man" should stay home unless it is vital he goes. Is there something about this story you think should not be posted? What I believe concerning Obama is what Obama himself has presented. It has nothing to do with what I would like to believe.It has everything to do with Obama's behaviour.I am not the one spending 200 million dollars per day at a time this country can ill afford this. I am not the one that talks of shared "sacrifice" while spending 200 million a day of other people's money.He is and doesn't appear to know the meaning of the word. If he ever does do something that reflects even in the slightest his "wonderful teleprompter" speeches I would be more than willing to post it. Somehow I don't think I will see it anytime soon. Of course, those people would be getting paid regardless if they go with him or not. It takes into account the cost of all the military personnel which, of course, would be getting paid regardless what they were doing. The liberals did the same thing with Bush. We have not recruited a bunch more sailors and airmen that were civilians. The liberals played this same game with Bush. These are costs would have been spent anyway. It would not take an act of congress with Obama as president. Whatever the cost it is enough that the White House has no intention of releasing. The cost of his trip boils down to the hotel and meals that are paid for while there. Perhaps a little fuel to get him there but a lot of the fuel would have been burned up in exercises any way. There has been an act of Congress. It was called the federal budget which was passed. That budget allowed for a specific amount of money for these kinds of trips. President Obama cannot go outside of that budget without taking the money from someplace else of getting Congress to approve more money. This is a non-story.
