Warren Wolford is a friend of mine. He recently had stem cell surgery in an unprecedented surgery in Mexico in order to regain his vision, lost due to macular degeneration. He's the first person in the world ever to have this surgery with stem cells. He's gotten his vision back!

The stem cells actually "grew" a new macula. It's a shame that stem cell research is so opposed in the United States.

That's awesome rudywoofs. I believe that Obama signed something to that effect? No? Not sure but I think he is for that and so was Clinton. Let me know if I'm wrong! LOL, you probably will. :)

I don't know that Obama has signed anything. I don't think he has the power to give the "go ahead" to do stem cell research in the United States. But even Ronald and Nancy Reagan were in favor of it.

Hooray for the President on this!!! After watching how my friend regained his sight from the use of stem cells, I'm totally in favor of it.

re: GW Bush's stance: he was wrong. Stem cells don't have to come from fetal body parts; umbilical cord blood contains stem cells.

Do you know if your friend had the wet or dry AMD?

My mother has both but the left eye (wet) is worse. This is so awesome! Thanks SO MUCH for sharing this!

From what I understand, stem cells don't even have to come from anything to do with a baby. They can be taken from an individual, but I don't know what part. The opposition to stem cell research is that the federal government uses taxes to support embryonic stem cell research. There is no opposition to other stem cell research.

The NOW organization and other "pro-choice" groups want the embryonic stem cell research to be funded by the government. There are researchers who are doing embryonic stem cell research as well as those using other types of stem cells, but are not funded by our government.

I have heard that the use of other stem cells has resulted in successful outcomes, but that the use of embryonic stem cells has not produced positive outcomes.

It seems that there is a lot of misleading info out there, just so babies can be killed.

I have a 17 year old girl who has lost her vision and am very interested in possibly speaking to your friend who had the stem cell surgery in Mexico.

my e-mail is segarcialeon@yahoo.com please pass this along to Mr. Warren Wolford. I would love to speak to him and ask some questions regarding his current vision status, cost, etc.

thank you for your time, my daughter and I would appreciate your help.

An important distinction conveniently overlooked by those who view the unborn as expendable commodities for human consumption.
