This story applies to Victoria, only one of the states of Australia..and not mine....and they have a state election looming.....

And, it only applies to doctors working in the public health care system, which rules out people in privately-owned clinics like us office GP's.

Plus, quite a few doctors have declined to accept the iPads or offered to hand them back if the government directs money to the hospital infrastructure instead.

I remember my days as a hospital intern/ resident. What would I have done with an iPad? I only had enough pockets to carry my pager, stethoscope, pen and keys. We need to keep our hands free.

I bet the medical ipads are a lot more expensive than the normal ones. The liability has to be huge.
