Liz Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 What are ya'lls thoughts on making amends once you have accepted Jesus into your life? We all have skeletons in our closets and some things would be easier to "fix" than others. So how far should you go? Should you turn yourself in for a murder you commited? What about if it happened 10 years ago and you have a family now? Or should we not try and make amends just go forward? Sorry if something like this has been discussed recently. teresaq Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 wow! not just basic "i boo=booed". i think we should constantly be on the lookout to make amends. that was one of the requirements in the levitical law on sin offerings, etc. when it comes to having committed a murder some time in the past....my gut would not want to confess and i would be using the family, etc., as an excuse, i believe. i certainly wouldnt want to. Moderators Gerr Posted November 16, 2010 Moderators Posted November 16, 2010 Would it not make it even MORE imperative to make amends when we become a Christian? The OT principle if it's stolen property is to pay back plus 1/5th. It is conceivable that there may be cases where it would be best to just leave sleeping dogs alone. One may have to pray about it and let the HS speak and convict our hearts. Quote
GreatLakesGramma Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I agree with Gerry. We must make things right to the best of our ability, no matter the consequences. Even in the case of little things we may have forgotten long ago, if God brings it to mind and convicts you, you need to obey those convictions. Lewis
