Administrators Gail Posted November 16, 2010 Administrators Posted November 16, 2010 The pastors of the church I attended last Sabbath are doing a series on "Restoration". The speaker gave some examples of things that God's love restores or will restore from the damage Satan has done: - the earth - people's hearts - relationships but the one that intrigued me the most was the thought that God wants to restore people's perceptions of Him. As people consider all the evil and violence man has endured, they often end up hating God, or at the least become disillusioned and disheartened. Thoughts? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
skyblue888 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Gail, you just opened a can of worms and yet it is an important aspect of the Gospel in these last days: Why does God need to change man's perception of Him, even us adventists? Because "Tradition and misinterpretation have obscured the teaching of the Bible regarding the charaacter of God, the nature of His government, and the principles of His dealing with sin." G.C.492. As to the subejct of "restoration" the Lord wants to restore Gospel Order within our ranks. He has been trying to do this for more than a century which would result in restoring hearts and relationships. But this is also something we don't like to talk about. Right? sky :) Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
