So, tonight I began my 14-hour bus ride home from Michigan. It went pretty smoothly when I left the South Bend airport, except for a confusion about how the tickets worked, and then a paranoid trip to Chicago worrying about what would happen if I missed the bus, etc.

I got to the Chicago station. It was very crowded, and I wasn't sure where the lines were, but by the time I found mine I was in the very back of the line. The bus was to leave at 10:50 p.m. It came. It left. And left several dozen of us behind. It was full. We stood there in shock and confusion.

For two hours.

FINALLY, a bus came, and by that time I think we were all inclined to have a group hug. It was actually a very interesting time, despite it being very uncomfortable to stand up for two hours carrying bags. I got to talk a little bit to a few people, including an elderly woman who spoke critically about all the people talking constantly into their cell phones.

I was finally able to get on the bus, at 12:50. Presumably because of the long delay, we got a very nice bus, with Wi-Fi, which is how I am typing this. I have two seats all to myself. It's very comfortable. So I am kind of glad that this happened, even if it throws off my schedule. It's almost enough to make me take back my vow that I made at the bus station to never ride a bus again after I get back to school.
