skyblue888 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Many waste precious time studying error, owing to the idea that one must understand all the windings of error in order to be prepared to escape it, or that one needs to see the evil side of life in order to be able to teach others to shun the evil and to appreciate the good. The true principle is well illustrated by the old story of the pilot. A traveler stood watching a pilot on a river steamer, and at length asked him, "How long have you been running on these waters?" "About twenty years." "Then I suppose you know every rock, and shoal, and bank, and place of danger." "No, I don't." "You don't!" exclaimed the passenger in alarm. "Then what do you know?" And there was a world of meaning in the pilot's answer: "I know where the deep water is." Administrators Gail Posted November 24, 2010 Administrators Posted November 24, 2010 Well, I'm not sure how much I'd trust a pilot who didn't know where ANY of the rocky places were... skyblue888 Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 :) Did not Jesus know everything about the lies of Satan and yet He did not spend any time dwelling on his lies. He knew the truth and presented the truth in love and that is how He exposed the lies. Right? sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
Administrators Gail Posted November 24, 2010 Administrators Posted November 24, 2010 Yes. He wasn't ignorant of the lies, though. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
LifeHiscost Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Yes. He wasn't ignorant of the lies, though. However it was a knowledge of the lies that put the human race into slavery and it is still a knowledge of the Truth that sets us free. "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”"John 8:32 NKJV God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
LifeHiscost Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil. Ears, mouth and eyes covered. So how does one hear truth, learn about it or see it under those conditions??? " (Father)I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They do not belong to this world any more than I do." John 17:14-16 NLT Parenthesis mine LHC God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
