Administrators Gail Posted November 29, 2010 Administrators Posted November 29, 2010 This year I have seen the Judgment described as a Gospel message, something that people are tweaking onto (thankfully)more and more. Here is another profound passage about judgment, which is good news, indeed, given by our Lord Himself: Quote: John 3:18-21 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Administrators Gail Posted November 29, 2010 Author Administrators Posted November 29, 2010 The word in the Greek for condemnation is the same as for judgment, right? Hence: This is the judgment (v.19), that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil. If you are covered by the shed blood of Jesus, you are not judged (condemned). The difference is what a sinner does when he sins. The Christian who messes up runs to Christ and repents and the sacrifice at the cross is sufficient for him. The non-Christian doesn't. The Judgment is not to determine who is saved as much as revealing to the world and angels why we receive the reward that we do when Jesus comes. Verse 18- "He who believes in Him is not condemned (judged)..." Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Moderators Gerr Posted November 30, 2010 Moderators Posted November 30, 2010 The Judgment & the Gospel are closely intertwined as I see it. Here's why: Da 7:26 "But the court shall sit in judgment, and his dominion shall be taken away, to be consumed and destroyed to the end. 27 And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; their kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey them." ESV. No judgment of sin & sinners, no inheritance/kingdom for the saints. Quote
