nuff sed Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 If you come to the Forest Lake Church in Apopka just NW of Orlando on Dec.11 and attend the Bridgebuilders SS class in room 6 at 10:00 a.m. I will see that you are invited to the class potluck being held after the church service. Nuff sed......... Quote

Actually I thought everybody does that. LOL Not sure if my Mom's church is having a potluck this weekend or not. But I do know that if you were here in Lancaster, MA at the College Church, we have potluck every Sabbath. But I think nuff sed has given you some good choice's. Dr. Shane Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Our church has potluck every week except once a month which is when we are suppose to invite each other to our homes to eat. Visitors are paired up with someone on that Sabbath so they are not on their own. However, I was once invited to preach once and it was a two hour drive for me. My wife and I drove up there and my sermon was on vegetarianism. No potluck and no one invited us to their home for lunch. It was a long drive home. I guess there were no vegetarians in that church. So... it was a needed message. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

nuff sed Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 It was a good question for Olger to ask..... Our Sabbath School Class,- Bridge Builders, had an outstanding potluck today. I hope that he and his wife enjoyed it as much as I did... nuff sed Quote
nuff sed Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Gone are the days (too bad) when you could visit a church and know full well that if there was not a potluck someone would invite you home for lunch. Nowadays you are lucky if they know whether you are a member or not! nuff sed Quote
olger Posted December 12, 2010 Author Posted December 12, 2010 It was great to meet Don & his class. The SS study was thought provoking, and the potluck was more than we deserved. Hope to see you again. Went back to the resort and spent some time by the pool. Got into a discussion with two fellows at the pool, and had an impromptu Bible study with one of them. He said the story of Job made him angry. The Lord blessed our time together. g&n Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Guest Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I wish I could have been there.......at least for the potluck. Quote

LOL, I agree, but you know what it was in the 30s there and in the 40s in Mass. Right now its freezing here and from what my Mom says its in the 50s/60s in Deltona where she lives. The weather is really getting crazy. :) Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted December 12, 2010 Moderators Posted December 12, 2010 I got tired of sitting by my pool and the cost of keeping it up so I filled it full of dirt! Nuff sed I thought I'd be so smart when all my kids and grandkids were here for Thanksgiving; I heated my pool. Thought they'd have fun swimming. Well, the heater worked and worked, for four days, but the temp only came up 20 degrees F. [from 52 degrees to 72 degrees]. My grandkids said, No Thanks to swimming in that cold stuff! So that four days of running the heater [plus longer hours on the pump itself] cost me a whole lot of money, but we still couldn't outsmart Nature. [it was just plain COLD in Southern California at Thanksgiving!] Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional....

It would literally be sunny and hot one minute, and pouring rain and hail the next. But overall the summer is getting warmer.
