Interesting...

Quote:
The name China, like the earlier name Cathay, is European in origin and is unknown to most Chinese. For thousands of years they have called their country Zhongguo, which means Middle Kingdom. The name reflects the traditional Chinese belief that China is the geographic and cultural center of the world, with all other nations on the periphery

"Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

*Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth.

(And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

Is it the reference to Stan that entices them?

Seems to me they refused to meet with the British initial, as they considered the British to uncultured. That did not go over that well with the British, who knew they were the centre of everything.
