fccool Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 The idea of "original thought" is quite paradoxic when you ascribe the idea of uniqueness. In this world everything is a copy of a copy. To lock topics because someone shares ideas of other people is plain silly considering that we learn by copying NON-ORIGINAL ideas. Our ideas are original as far as they originate with us and are interpreted based on certain disposition that we have, yet which is ironically a modified copy of something else. So, please... let's be reasonable here. I understand that we can agree not to quote other people here verbatim, but to demand absolute originality is diminishing what this forum supposed to be about... deep thoughts and philosophical conversations that are usually end up on the bottom of the Townhall list. Let's reason, and let's be reasonable. Quote
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted December 23, 2010 Administrators Posted December 23, 2010 If you recall from one of the stories that got this whole thing started a friend and I played a stump google sort of game. If you come up with an idea and google it and get no hits, then you are on to something. Give that a try and when you come up with an idea to which you get no google hits, bring it back and lets discuss it. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
