Oliver Wray, 91, of Route 20, Sheridan, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk, following a lengthy illness. She was born in West Almond, NY on May 21, 1919, the daughter of the late Frederick & Bessie (Fox) Moore. She worked as a machine operator for the former Fredonia Seed Company, Fredonia, for 27 years, retiring in 1979. Mrs. Wray was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Brocton, where she served as a deaconess, greeter and past church clerk, was an over 50-year member of Fredonia Grange #1, Chautauqua County Pomona Grange #3 and New York State Grange, was a member of the National Grange and the Sheridan Historical Society, a charter member & past secretary of the Sheridan Happy Seniors, a member & past secretary of the former Rebekah Lodge #558, Smith Mills and a past member of the former Sheridan Grange. Mrs. Wray worked for RSVP and volunteered as an aide for St. Columban's on the Lake for five years. Survivors include her husband, Robert G. Wray of Sheridan, whom she married July 4, 1989 in Sheridan; a daughter, Mrs. David (Roseann) Mumau of Meadville, PA; a son, Earl Wray, Sr. of York, SC; and a brother, Farnham Moore, of Painted Post, NY. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a nephew, Richard Moore of Buffalo; 2 nieces and several great nieces & nephews and several great great nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Edmund Oliver, who died February 12, 1957; by 8 brothers Lawrence, Otto, Leo, Pete, Eldon, Clifford, Paul & Merle Moore; and by a sister, Juanita Searl. Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Sun-day from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., from where Funeral Services will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock, with Pastor Samuel Indrieu of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Brocton, officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Burnham Hollow Cemetery, Town of Arkwright. The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Sheridan Fire Dept. P.O.
