bonnie Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Issa Targets Obama Administration Rick Moran Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has issued a list of investigations he will undertake in the next Congress. Politico reports: --Issa's list: "1. Impact of regulation on job creation ... 2. Fannie/Freddie & the Foreclosure Crisis ... 3. Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission and the failure to identify origins of the financial crisis ... 4. Combating corruption in Afghanistan ... 5. WikiLeaks ... 6. FDA/Food & Drug Safety." Issa is moving cautiously at first, apparently trying to project an image of consensus builder rather than partisan. Note there are no juicy corruption probes like stimulus spending, TARP funds, IG firings, or other issues that would really make Democrats squirm. This is tactically the right move as it not only makes his investigations look reasonable, but saves the best stuff for 2012 and the election. The Fannie and Freddie investigations should prove uncomfortable enough for some Democrats like Barney Frank anyway. And the impact of regulation on job creation just may open many people's eyes about how damaging this administration has been to the economy. Issa seems to be off to a good start. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
