Dr. Shane Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 No too many phone booths around anymore. It was kind of odd when Southwestern Bell bought out AT&T but not too surprising that it than changed its name to AT&T. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Amelia Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I was going to say the same thing Shane. Seems that technology just skipped right over the phone booth. Also the automatic toll skipped over the in car card swipe, to the RFID card. Video conferencing is very popular but the original video phone never made it. How about internet shopping idea from the 50's Quote <p><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="font-weight:bold;"><span style="font-style:italic;">"Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you."</span></span> Eph 4:29</span><br><br><img src="http://banners.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetemp_both/US/OR/Fairview.gif" alt="Fairview.gif"> Fairview Or</p>
fccool Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 There's a very well known concept in the industry... it's called built in obsolescence. That's the same reason that Gilette releases those enhancements in their shavers gradually, one by one. A lot of the technology that is "brand new" is actually delayed quite a bit, or released partially so that the new version will be even better. That's what keeps our economy going :) Quote
Moderators LynnDel Posted January 6, 2011 Moderators Posted January 6, 2011 Was it AT&T that brought all this? Quote LD
