Dr. Shane Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 How same-sex marriage points to end of the world What do May 17, 2004, and May 15, 2008, have in common? One judge and a redefinition of marriage against the will of the people. Both the Massachusetts Superior Court and the California Supreme Court by a one-judge margin redefined what marriage has always been in every culture and every religion for more than 5,000 years of recorded history. Why does this matter? As I wrote about in my book, "The Criminalization of Christianity," Jeffrey Satinover, who holds an M.D. from Princeton and doctorates from Yale, MIT and Harvard, was on my radio program one day and I asked him about where we are in history. He explained that according to the "Babylonian Talmud" – the book of rabbis' interpretation of the scriptures 1,000 years before Christ, there was only one time in history that reflects where we are right now. There was only one time in history, according to these writings, where men were given in marriage to men, and women given in marriage to women. Want to venture a guess as to when? No, it wasn't in Sodom and Gomorrah, although that was my guess. Homosexuality was rampant there, of course, but according to the Talmud, not homosexual "marriage." What about ancient Greece? Rome? No. Babylon? No again. The one time in history when homosexual "marriage" was practiced was … during the days of Noah. And according to Satinover, that's what the "Babylonian Talmud" attributes as the final straw that led to the Flood. On my Faith2Action radio program on Thursday, Rabbi Aryeh Spero verified this to be true. Rabbi Spero spoke of God's compassion before the Flood, in hopes people would repent and turn back to His ways. He showed patience for hundreds of years. But, he said, the Talmud's writings reveal that "before the Flood people started to write marriage contracts between men, in other words, homosexual 'marriage,' which is more than homosexual activity – it's giving an official state stamp of approval, a sanctification … of homosexual partnership." In fact, he said, "the writings indicated that it wasn't even so much the 'straw that broke the camel's back,' but that the sin in and of itself is so contrary to why God created the world, so contrary to the order of God's nature, that God said then and there 'I have to start all over … to annihilate the world and start from the beginning. …'" Rabbi Spero went on to say, "Even in ancient Greece they did not write marriage contracts between men. There was homosexuality, and it was wrong, but there was not an official 'blessed' policy. … Marriage is 'sanctification' (not simply a partnership)." He said to confer the title of sanctification and holiness upon this behavior is "probably one of the greatest sins of all that one does against God's plan for this world." The one time it happened was: "During the days of Noah." When I first heard this, my mind immediately went to a verse I've heard many times but never with such relevance. The verse is found in Matthew 24:37. It reads: As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. – Mathew 24:37 (NIV) I used to read this verse and think: It was bad at lots of points in history; it doesn't necessarily mean now, but if these Jewish writings are true, we are uniquely like the "days of Noah" right now – and only right now. But it can't be yet, you say. You have a lot going on in your life? You're getting married? Here's how the New Living Translation describes that very sentiment in Luke: When the Son of Man returns, the world will be like the people were in Noah's day. In those days before the Flood, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat, and the flood came to destroy them all. – Luke 17:26-27 Happily going about as if everything was fine was what they did, too. You don't like this possibility? Don't even believe in the Flood? Doesn't matter. Some things are true whether you believe them or not. How can you be sure? There's a way. Did you know that about one-fourth of the Bible is prophecy? A quarter of the Bible is a lot – it's a big book. And did you know God's standard? Perfection. That means that if even one of those prophecies is wrong, you can discount the whole thing. Kind of like a prophet who makes a false prediction – that made him a false prophet and a candidate for stoning. Did you know that 4,000 prophecies in that Bible have already come true down to the last detail? That leaves about 1,000 left to be fulfilled – those are the ones regarding the last days before the return of Christ, which are being checked off the list right now. If 4,000 out of 5,000 prophecies have already occurred exactly as the Bible predicted they would, you might want to pay attention to the rest. The good news is that 1.1 million people across California have signed a petition to bring marriage to a vote of the people through a state constitutional amendment (just like 27 other states have done). And guess what? An amendment to a state constitution trumps even the most out-of-control state judiciary. We'll likely know if these signatures are validated before this tyrannical ruling goes into effect, and I predict they will be since they gathered 400,000 more signatures more than they needed to qualify. Besides, they already voted – eight years ago where more than 61 percent of Californians declared marriage as the union of a man and a woman. Now they just need to turn that same language into a constitutional amendment. I don't live in California, so why am I sounding the alarm? Here's why: But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand. – Ezekiel 33:6 I'm praying and working to protect marriage in California (and the rest of the country) not only because I care about marriage, but because I care about civilization. And, if we obey God, he just may spare us from the judgment we deserve. [text taken from link] Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

Moderators John317 Posted January 9, 2011 Moderators Posted January 9, 2011 Good article, Shane. I agree with it, but we need to realize how easy it is for people to be deceived into thinking homosexual marriages are OK. I used to not only think it was OK but I wanted to get married to my "room-mate." Today there are already SDA women who are married to other women and SDA men who are living with or are married to other men. In fact, it has been happening since the 1980s. So it has already entered into the SDA church, to say nothing of the "world." And astonishingly, there are some very important SDA leaders who favor it. Yet people wonder why Christ hasn't come for His church yet. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Moderators John317 Posted January 9, 2011 Moderators Posted January 9, 2011 It was generally believed in previous generations of SDAs that God had a particular time when Christ would return for His church. In other words, it was thought that God had something like a big clock in the sky that had to strike a certain hour before He would send Christ to get His people. But that is a big mistake. God has no certain hour or time. What He is looking for is a certain condition in His church, and that condition is having the character of Christ and therefore being ready to go through the end-time events. God won't allow the angels to release the four winds, nor will He pour out the 7 last plagues, until His people are sealed in their foreheads. No one will be sealed who is practicing willful sin. Being "sealed" means being so settled into the truth that they cannot be moved. God allows the shaking to cleanse His church. Many will be shaken out and many others will be shaken in. One of the reasons for the shaking will be persecution. Christ comes again when the harvest of the earth is ripe. Rev. 14: 15. That means His body, the church, is ready; and, by the same token, the unrighteous are settled into their unrighteousness so they cannot be moved. He comes when the wife of the Lamb has made herself ready. Rev. 19: 7. She has on clean and bright linen, which is no mere covering of sins that are continuing to be practiced. Ellen White says Jesus comes for His church that has neither spot nor wrinkle. Until that point is reached, Christ will not come. He won't come prematurely. Perhaps it is for that reason that 2 Peter 3: 12 tells believers to "look for and hasten the coming of the day of God." As Seventh-day Adventists, we know that Christ could have come in the 19th century, but there has been a delay because God's people rejected the message God sent to us. If everyone had accepted the message sent from heaven, and united under the Holy Spirit to proclaim the truth to the world, the world would have been warned and Christ would have come long before now. Jesus was prepared to come a short time after 1844, and then again He would have come about 1890 if the SDA church had done what God planned. So Jesus still waits. skyblue888 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 What about the requirement that the message will have gone out to all the world, and then He will come. Jeannie ________________________ Jeannie, yes the message must go out to all the world and when the mission of the Gospel is completed God will have a people who will have grown up into Christ until the full corn is in the ear. See Mark 4:26-29. These alone can pass the scrutiny of the judgment of the living prior to the close of probation and live through the time of Jacob's trouble and be translated without seeing death. The rest are said to be going through the great time of trouble. They are the "wicked" and just before the fifth plague they will attempt to slay those who reflect Christ's character fully. But God will intervene and He will deliver His people. The next event is the sixth plague which is the drying up of the River Euphrates, in other words, the drying up of the "waters" upon which Babylon the Great sits and this is what will bring its fall for at that time there will be no one to help her. sky This "drying up" of the "waters" is spoken of in The Great Controversy, pp.536,556. The "waters" upon which Babylon sits are the multitudes of peoples of this earth. Rev.17:15. At the time of the fifth plague, they will realize that they are lost forever. Then they will accuse one another but all will agree to put the blame upon the false shepherds and they will turn upon them with the fury of demons. Thus the spiritual River of Euphrates will be dried up and this will prepare the way of the Kings from the East. Rev.16:12. These kings are Christ and the saints who are coming with Him in the clouds of Heaven. Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
Moderators John317 Posted January 10, 2011 Moderators Posted January 10, 2011 Yes, that's true. The true gospel must go to all the world before Christ returns. A lot of people think it refers to the message that Christ died for our sins in order for God to forgive us, and I believe that's part of it, but I believe it goes beyond that. According to Rev. 18, it will include the Three Angels' Messages proclaimed under the power of the Latter Rain a short time before the falling of the 7 Last Plagues. Only a purified church will be able to proclaim this message. The church will first accept and practice the message and then under the power of the Holy Spirit, it will give it to the world. As the third angel's message swells into a loud cry, and as great power and glory attend the closing work, the faithful people of God will partake of that glory. Raphael Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Hi folks of God's people. I am at the corner of the earth, at a mysteriously and not so well known archipelago which keeps me guessing upon the (factual & real time) current issues and state of certain events... such as, is it only my impression or is it true that SDA's are heavy into world class topics of health reform, true Sabbath observance and separation between state and religion... only? That is only three issues out of the others, like perpetual orchestrated action against seriously organized criminal immorality movement... among others... industries of gambling, liquor and smoking... homosexuality is not an industry but possesses incredible worldwide organized unity and progressive engagements. Narcotics is a mean and live movement but world class players of governments are already fully in engagement deeming less concern on global scales for us, neighborhood class players. If my observation is true why is it that our organization has not take its stand of obligation and responsibility against these world scale movements and has left it to publicity stunt oriented denominations and religions to wield? We have that 5 day quit smoking and other well applauding superbly schemed efforts but why is it that we don't have the equivalent in the other fields such as ... say 5 day quit homosexuality. In curing processes anything is deemed alright say a little poison of paracetamol analgesics till extremely hazardous chemotherapy... homosexuals could utilize the same proceedings, say 5 day or a time frame in a specialized and professionally run red light district to righten the pleasures instincts and blaspheme the wrong passions... why not? Ofcourse every sin is actually an organized movement weaved by the dark masters in floating places but human involvement is far and beyond in comparison to demonic endeavor alone... needing far more attentive action. Lets sing the song of shout it on the mountain top and let the (battle) drums roll... haleluyah! Quote Test me with thy might but grant me safe passage. Now, who said that?
