Dr. Shane Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Tom DeLay, former House majority leader, sentenced to three years in prison Quote: From “Dancing with the Stars” to prison – that’s the fate of former US House majority leader Tom DeLay. A judge sentenced the former Texas congressman to three years in prison Monday for conspiring to direct laundered corporate money to Texas candidates in 2002. Last November, a jury had also found Mr. DeLay guilty of money laundering, and he accepted 10 years of probation for that in lieu of an additional five years of prison time. In the meantime, his attorneys are appealing the conviction. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

Dr. Shane Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 DeLay: Conviction all about politics Quote: Accompanied by his lawyer, a defiant former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay reiterated Wednesday that he was sentenced to three years in prison for political reasons and that he had done nothing wrong. "I was tried in the most liberal county in the state of Texas, and indeed in the United States," DeLay told the TODAY Show's Matt Lauer in an exclusive interview. "The point is that this is a political campaign." Someone should tell the hammer that an apology will go further than his excuses. BTW: The county I live in is more liberal than the county he was tried in. At this point, he is becoming delusional. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Dr. Shane Posted January 14, 2011 Author Posted January 14, 2011 It is sad that most corrupt politicians get away with it but isn't is sweet when some don't!? I am so glad they spanked the hammer. Too bad it is only three years. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
