Moderators Bravus Posted January 21, 2011 Moderators Posted January 21, 2011 Not where I am, and not where I was today: in Townsville. Flew up to the tropics for the day for a research project, talking to teachers. Of course, school finishes at 3 and our flights out weren't until 7 pm, so we went down by the ocean for dinner. Very salubrious. It was 31 C and very humid - some colleagues complained about the heat but I just basked. Quote Truth is important
Liz Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Monday we got up into the '70's, then a cold front moved in and we have barely made it into the high '30's and with the wind chill factor, it is just plain cold. Members phkrause Posted January 21, 2011 Members Posted January 21, 2011 I left a very cold Massachusetts, actually when we left it was warming up into the 20s. Just heard that the temps in the NE are 10-20 degrees colder than normal, I disagree with them, its usually very cold in January and the beginning of February. But I'm down here in Georgia and its nice, I can walk around with no jacket or sweater. Life is good. Of course if I had been born there that would've been a different story. Other than you I only know 2 others that are from Minnesota, Kevin McHale and Bob Dylan. bonnie Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 **ouch** You don't really appreciate the word cold till you crawl out of a warm water bed in the middle of Jan at 20 below and make a trip to the barn. Had to check and make sure no baby lambs were born and freezing to death. But it is great for snowmobiling. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. cricket Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 It is cold here at 15°F. We have a foot of snow on the ground as well. I'm tired of getting up at 5:30 to shovel snow so my husband can make it in to work on time. Thankfully, tomorrow is not a work day nor a school day. Quote
Moderators Gerr Posted January 22, 2011 Moderators Posted January 22, 2011 It's 27 F where I am. If I have my way, I'll go somewhere warm next winter. But thank God for a warm house! Quote
doug yowell Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I just checked the 10 day forecast for Loma Linda and saw that we too are expecting a cold snap by the end of next week. They're predicting that daytime high's may plunge as low as the upper 60's!My wife's already trying to locate her down slippers. Quote
