Guest truthseeker007 Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Are wicked children going to be resurrected in the second ressurection? If so, would they understand the presentation about Jesus his mission on earth? From what age are children accountable?what about babies? i cannot imagine that God would resurrect babies to destroy them again? Quote
Administrators Gail Posted January 25, 2011 Administrators Posted January 25, 2011 Hi, TS- always good to see you on! You know that God is merciful, so there is no need to worry about this. To be judged wicked, it implies that there is an age of responsibility or accountability. How can a baby be accountable, or even a young child? As He knows a heart and we just don't, it's a good thing that God Himself will decide. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Liz Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I also believe in the "age of accountability" and it is at this time that the individual's choices will come into the equation. I also believe that this age is different for everyone, and some will never reach it. Quote For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Administrators Gail Posted January 26, 2011 Administrators Posted January 26, 2011 and some will never reach it. I think I might know some of those... :) Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Guest truthseeker007 Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Thanks Gail for your reasonable answer!I wholeheartedly agree with you. But i think this topic is not as simple as it seems. If we assume that babies and children are not accountable, does that mean that all of them will be saved? I mean, according to the bible, we are all born as sinners. On the other hand i think that, if children die at a young age on this earth, in all fairness it would be just to compensate their loss of lives with eternal life in heaven. But now i am acting like a judge, above all i think it is important to trust in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. He is intelligent and just and will provide a judgement that satisfies every human being and angel who is longing for justice... I hope the final endtime events will start soon, and Jesus returns. It will be better for everybody, even those who love the world and don t realise they are enslaved to sin. Quote
doug yowell Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 What about the first resurrection? Is it possible that babies will be reunited with their parents? Quote
Moderators John317 Posted January 27, 2011 Moderators Posted January 27, 2011 The Bible doesnt give us much information about babies, but we do know that God is fair and loving and that He wants as many people to be saved as possible. So we can be sure He will do the right thing. Ellen White does describe babies in heaven without their parents, but exactly how God will determine what babies to save, we dont know. I believe it's consistent with God's character and love that He will save those who He knows will not continue the rebellion and disobedience in heaven. However, I don't think it would be fair for God to save all babies. If He did, lost people would have a right to ask why God didn't allow them to die as infants. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
skyblue888 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 My thoughts as well, John. :) Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.

John, you know that Matthew (2:16-18)quotes Jer.31:15 as the prophesy that pointed forward to Herod's slaughter of the baby boys in Bethlehem. That being the case, have you ever wondered what Jer.31:16,17 would apply to? It could be a stretch but it is certainly true that all those children died for Christ's sake.Just wondering. Quote
Moderators John317 Posted January 28, 2011 Moderators Posted January 28, 2011 You make an interesting point. I believe God will save anyone He can without putting the peace of the universe at risk. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Ellen Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 There will be children in heaven - where do they come from? I have heard there will be some persons not resurrected the second time but will be "like the animals" whatever that means. Would babies be included in that? God knows. Quote

Moderators John317 Posted January 29, 2011 Moderators Posted January 29, 2011 I think it's likely. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Moderators John317 Posted January 29, 2011 Moderators Posted January 29, 2011 Yes, that's true, but that doesn't mean all babies will be saved. If that were the case, it would mean it would be best for people to die as infants because it would guarantee their salvation. The Bible says nothing about the salvation of babies, and I suspect the reason is that it's not something God considers necessary for us to understand. Whatever He does, it doesn't affect our responsibilies and the proclamation of the gospel. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
