Woody Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Went out to eat tonight at a restaurant. When it was time to pay the bill I was surprised to find that the tip was already on the bill. Oh for the old days when you could decide to tip or not tip and if so how much. What is the World coming to? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Dottie Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 We had that happen to us a week ago. My husband automatically added a tip, then noticed that there was a "gratuity" added above the total. He scratched out the amount he had put on for a tip. Their loss. His planned tip was greater than what the restaurant had added! :) Quote

Amelia Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I'm with you Gail. Nothing gauls me more than seeing a tip jar at a drive through window. Why would I want to tip someone who does nothing but take my money and hand me a bag? And alot of wait staff seem to think they deserve a tip by meerly showing up at your table. But I will be generous when a waitperson shows the right amount of attention to my table,knowledge of the food offered and some level of enjoyment in their job.
