PheSLSDA Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 My question ( my first question) stems from an accusation from a family member who is an ex SDA and is more than surpised at our 'activity' as a world wide church on the net when 30 years ago he still remembers the fears and warnings of church leaders stating that the internet is evil and we would all lose our identiy if we went on the world wide web. (hes also believing the www= 666). Although I have tried to inform him that the winds of change have actually propelled our church into the 'gospel spreading' commission given by Our Lord. Using technology like Satelites with 3ABN and the Hope chanel has been undoubtedly positive, but what of the internet? Does your local church still fear the use of it? Quote

I have never heard the statement your family member understood, by anyone in leadership. Perhaps your family member's pastor, or one of the ubiquitous traveling doomsayers of the time, held some personal views that gave him the impression that it was a denominational position. Cool I am currently one of the main co-ordinators in an Adventist virtual church/ cybre church in the virtual world of Second Life on the internet and its a realm I honestly believe can reach people who would maybe never step foot inside a real church.
